There are different ways to pause Windows updates on your PC. One of the easiest ways is to use the Settings app. Here are the steps to do it:
Open the Settings app by clicking the Start menu and selecting the gear icon, or by pressing Windows+I on your keyboard.
Click on Windows Update
On the right panel, you will see an option to Pause updates for 7 days. Click on it to pause the updates for one week. You can click on it again to extend the pause period by another week, up to a maximum of 35 days.
If you want to pause the updates until a specific date, click on Advanced options below the Pause updates button. Then, under the Pause updates section, select a date from the drop-down menu. You can choose any date within the next 35 days.
By pausing the updates, you can prevent Windows from automatically downloading and installing any updates, including security and feature updates.
However, after the pause period expires, Windows will resume the updates and you will need to install the latest updates before you can pause them again.
